“Former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Emeritus Prof. Peter Okebukola, has lauded Albesta Academy for its two decades of educational excellence, describing the institution as “a living testimony of the house that the Lord built”.

Represented by his wife, Prof. Foluso Okebukola, at the academy’s historic 20th anniversary, valedictory service and graduation, the Grand Patron of Albesta Academy expressed optimism that the institution would, in due course, expand its educational vision to establish a full-fledged university.

The landmark event, which attracted distinguished personalities from academia, the security services and the clergy, also served as a solemn tribute to the late founder of the institution, Rev.  Albert Abe.

Reflecting on the school’s remarkable journey, the founder’s widow and Chairperson/Proprietress, Mrs. Modupe Esther Abe, recounted how the institution was borne out of a shared vision between her and her late husband.

She explained that following the establishment of the secondary school section in 2006, the primary arm was established a decade later. According to her, the institution has recorded significant achievements on the solid foundation laid by her late husband, sustained by the grace of God.

Mrs. Abe reaffirmed that the school’s vision remains firmly anchored in the biblical injunction, “Righteousness exalteth a nation”, with academic and moral excellence at the heart of its educational philosophy.

She expressed profound appreciation to Emeritus Prof. Okebukola and his wife for their unwavering support of the institution, as well as Mrs. Abosede Adelaja, a retired Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Ministry of Education and a member of the school’s Board, whose guidance, she noted, was instrumental in securing the institution’s official approval.

She added that graduates of Albesta Academy are making significant contributions and achieving remarkable success both within Nigeria and internationally.

 The head of the Abe family, Pastor Rotimi Abe, recalled that when his late brother expressed an interest in starting a business, he initially considered investing in petrol stations. However, Pastor Abe said he advised him to channel his resources into an enterprise that would create a lasting legacy.

 According to him, his brother later returned to inform him that he and his wife had decided to invest in education by establishing schools.

 That decision, he said, eventually gave birth to Albesta Academy.”
